Indispensable Criteria For Music Charts In The USA
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012Rihanna reunites with Chris Brown, sparking controversy
If the rumors are true, and Rihanna has gotten back with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, there are a lot of who do not find this bit of news surprising in the least.
The pair split in 2009 after an extremely publicized domestic assault incident. Afterward Rihanna came forward as a victim of abuse, saying that she would like to help other young ladies who were victims of abuse “in any way” possible.
Recent reports claim the pair have already been investing time together, & now Brown & Rihanna have released 2 collaborative remixes – of “Birthday Cake” & “Turn up the Music” – seemingly confirming rumors of a reunion.
The news didn’t shock the executive director for the National Coalition against Domestic Violence, Rita Smith, who told MTV News: “I’m not specifically shocked given the rumors that had gone on around this, & it’s also not surprising for the reason that numerous victims get back with their abusers, even after an assault.
“They love them, they think they modify, and abusers are specially good at convincing you they have altered. I do not know what their relationship is at this point, but I’m not shocked that she’s staying connected.
“I’m still concerned for the reason that his reaction to people’s criticism of him being on the Grammys was fairly belligerent, and that didn’t give me much of a message or sense of hope that he had made changes since the assault.”
After picking up a Grammy earlier this month, Brown responded to criticism on Twitter by tweeting: “HATE ALL U Want BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That is the ultimate F**K OFF!”
Through the awards ceremony, which featured a performance from Brown, “wife beater” became a popular trending topic on the micro blogging site.
An inside source told Radar Online that it wasn’t essentially Brown who penned & published those Tweets – that “someone does his postings on Twitter and when he saw that he ordered it taken down quickly.”
